This is a map of the Hesperia city limits on the south west corner of town. The yellow area's marked R1 at the top and to the right are inside the City of Hesperia city limits. The white area with the yellow highlighted stripe- Ranchero Road- is all in the County. Ranchero Road that is still in the County goes from Topaz to the east all the way to the rail road tracks to the west. The County limits go north to Muscatel and south to the Cajon pass. The solid black line is the border between the County and the City. All of the white area within the solid black line is County, the 15 freeway is to the left. The yellow sections (R1) on top and to the right are in the City limits.

Right now the tax payers in Hesperia have paid for everything that required money for the Ranchero underpass and the Ranchero freeway off ramps. Somewhere over $30 million dollars to date. The land being purchased to build the underpass is paid for by the citizens of Hesperia. Not the County and not Oak Hills. For Hesperia taxpayers to foot the bill at both ends of this project and then give the County the sales tax revenue that the business's along Ranchero will generate is not my idea of doing what's best for the citizens of Hesperia. The City Council needs to start the annexing process as soon as possible, for some return on our investment. Only property and business's within the City limits generate property and sales tax for the City of Hesperia which pay for public services. Which we need more then ever with 100,000 people in Hesperia.
