This sad story was copied from the HUSD board meeting agendas that can be found on the HUSD web site. The board started negotiations in closed session on April 21,2008. The land was bought on a 3-1 vote with Minton voting against it on June 23,2008. Then the board members comments on July 14,2008 followed by Mintons resignation at the August 4,2008 meeting. This is the same Michael Gallagher from the TaxPayers for Good Government developer pac and from the Colonies funded Inland Empire PAC that Postmus and Defazio were indicted by the AG over.

9.3 BOARD MEMBER’S REPORT: (Continued)
Board Member Bruce Minton reported on the following: • After the last Board meeting, there were some questions on the property that the district acquired. I went out to the site the following day and today to verify it. He presented some photographs which depict that, in fact, misrepresentations were made.

BOARD MEMBER’S REPORT: Board Member Bruce Minton reported on the following:
Effective September 1, 2008, I intend to resign my position as a member of this Board.
We are in the business of education and this Board, by its governing also educates the people and the children in this District. Are we teaching that government is operated by giving money to landowners and developers through sweetheart deals not because it saves our citizens tax dollars but because they will make campaign contributions to family members and help financially to pass bonds and increase taxes or do we teach them that our decisions are made independent on each issue, whether that issue is good for the students and the people of this District and we look at each issue on its own merits without what a favor can be done for someone else or will they do a favor for us. I believe that our controlling decisions should be based on our children’s best interest; not on favors for each other. Because of this, I simply cannot continue to serve on this Board. Thank you.
This is another example of developers loading the government agency with political operatives to profit from the taxpayers. The HUSD also bought property from Postmus associate Dino Defazio months earlier. Go figure.
