As they say these days- "It's Complex" but I will try and explain. Trying to find accurate campaign filings on the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters website is difficult enough as Kari Verjil can't spell or record a correct filing date on the forms. First the misspelling of Rita Vogler's name as Volger on the ROV website.

Now as I try and find Mitzelfelt campaign filings on the ROV website, I found that she has back dated them to when they were signed by the campaign treasurer- not when they were filed at the Registrar of Voters office. The website date and the date stamp on the form should be the same "Filing Date" ,but they are different for the Mitzelfelt campaign.

This is copy of an original request for Mitzelfelt's campaign filings that are only available if you "Visit Office".

The second and fourth listed filings down from the top- with the filing dates of 01/31/2008 and 11/26/2007 are for the same Amended FPPC Form 460 for Filing Period- 01/01/2007 to 06/30/2007. The one with the 01/31/2008 date that says View, is a download PDF file with no dates or signatures on it that you can View on your computer.( Where the 01/31/2008 date came from is another question.) The file that is dated 11/26/2007 Visit Office is a copy of the original Amended 460 filed with the ROV. This is a shot of the Cover page of that form.

You have 3 different dates recorded on this form, 2 at the bottom with signatures and 1 date stamp at the top right when it was filed at the Registrar of Voters office. Betty Presley signed this form on 11/26/2007. Brad Mitzelfelt signed it on 11/27/2007. The date stamp when it was turned in at the Registrar of Voters office has it FILED on December 10, 2007. On the Registrar of Voters website, it has it as FILED on 11/26/2007 when Presley signed it. Not on December 10,2007 when it was received at the Registrar of Voters office. THATS WHAT A DATE STAMP IS FOR !!! TO RECORD WHAT DATE IT WAS FILED!!! It doesn't say when Mitzelfelt's new treasurer signed the form, it says Date Filed.

This Registrar of Voters cannot be trusted to conduct a fair election if she is either working on behalf of the Mitzelfelt campaign and against the other 3 candidates and cannot spell. Or cannot be trusted to put the correct date on Mitzelfelt's 460 filings. Or is totally incompetent in performing basic filing and spelling. Any way you want to look at it, she cannot be trusted. The State Attorney General and the Secretary of State need to investigate Verjils actions and election observers from the State need to be present for the vote counting and to make sure Verjil isn't rigging this election for Mitzelfelt. She has already allowed Mitzelfelt to violate the Election Code by not having "Appointed" on his Occupation description on the ballot. Verjil was taking orders from Mitzelfelt's staffers on requiring documentation from other candidates according to newspaper reports. Enough is enough, this is not a third world country were you expect elections to be rigged.
