Leading the group in money raised and money on hand is Brad (the appointed one) Mitzelfelt. For 2007 he raised $850,040.00 in contributions and reported $709,184.54 on hand on Dec 31,2007. 75% of Mitzelfelts money- $626,249.00 came from outside of the 1st District that he allegedly represents.
Second in money is Dennis Hansberger, who is running for his 4th term this year. He has been there since 1996, and if elected will have 16 years in as County Supervisor. Hansberger raised $320,551.00 last year but has $493,305.00 on hand for his campaign this year. Hansberger is the only County Supervisor who does not have Betty Presley as his treasurer.
Comming in 3rd is Paul Biane who is not running this year but still raised $381,057.00 and has $454,378.00 on hand to spread around to other candidates if he wants to.
Forth is Josie Gonzales who is running this year. Josie raised $422,415.00 and has $351,593.00 cash on hand for her campaign.
5th is Gary Ovitt who is not running but raised $282,939.00 in 2007 and has $91,052.00 on hand.
