The more I look at the " Hesperia Chamber of Commerce / City Partnership Agreement" the more questions I have. It turns out that the City has been contributing $30,000 tax dollars a year to help pay the salary of the "Executive Director' of the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce. ($80,000 a year- $30,000 from the City-$50,000 from the Chamber) Out of the $60,000 annually, $30,000 will be paid out of Redevelopment Agency funds? The other $30,000 will come out of the City's General fund. How paying the salary of a Chamber executive with RDA funds is justified is the big question for me? How is this fighting blight? How does the public benefit? My idea of spending General Fund tax dollars or RDA funds has to do with public benefit- maybe like paving some roads in Hesperia. But thats just me. How about you? Does this seem like a good use of tax dollars?
